Update #11

We finished our portion of the Habitat classroom build and now the professionals come in to finish. Definitely the hardest manual labor I've ever done and I will never look at a pile of rocks the same but the reward was More than worth it. I'll send dishes pictures when it's done.

Update #10

Here is a picture of the team at the end of our first day. We've almost completed the foundation and our Kenyan Habitat partner, James (bottom right) says we've finished 2 days work in one day! Our duties today mainly consisted of carrying stones and mixing concrete and tomorrow we will finish the foundation. The people are so sweet and the hardest workers I've ever seen!

Update #3

I've reached my goal!!! Thank you to each and every one of you. Every donation was very much appreciated. Our team is much closer to hitting our 30k goal and with company match money coming later, I'm hopeful we will hit it! I'm looking forward to the build and I'll post updates along the way. The build begins on May 21st. Thank you again!!

Update #2

Thank you again for your support for our Habitat classroom build in Kenya!! Although I’m almost to my goal we are short as a team for the 30k so every dollar, extra dollar, helps. Don’t forget your donation is tax deductible. And also many companies match donations 1:1, such as mine, so keep your email receipt and see if your company will match. Just make sure they have our Habitat team info - GV18591 Kyumbi School Classroom Kenya-'18 Smith Team. A super easy way to double your donation!

Update #1

When it seems like so much is negative on social media, the news, etc. it warms my heart to see so much kindness. Getting close to my goal -$1400 out of $2200. Thank you so much!!!
