Tanzania Engineering World Health Summer Abroad

Tanzania Engineering World Health Summer Abroad

From Haylie Moore

I am fundraising for a service abroad trip to Tanzania. I will be repairing medical equipment for two months. Donations will go towards my airfare, course work, housing, food, and transportation to name a few.

More Info

My name is Haylie Moore and I am currently a student at Randolph-Macon College studying Engineering Physics. I am graduating in June and I will be going to graduate school for Biomedical Engineering. I have currently been accepted to Duke University, Drexel University, Catholic University of America, Carnegie-Mellon University, East Carolina University, Denmark Technical University, and Wake Forest-Virginia Tech.

I decided to apply to the summer Engineering World Health program because it sounded like a cool opportunity, it would give me hands on experience with repairing medical devices, and an inside look into Biomedical Engineering. It was such an honor to be selected as one of 25 people to go to Tanzania. I am grateful for this opportunity to help people, but there is a financial burden. As a participant I am expected to cover some or all of the tuition costs through personal fundraising efforts. I am looking to raise $6,000.
