So you want to combat sex-trafficking?  Yes! We are both absolutely in love with the Lord and it is clear to both of us that God is asking us to do our part in this fight against sex-trafficking.  Meaning, go!!!  Over the years He has taught both of us about the devastation and destruction of sex-trafficking in the United States.  God has exposed the often disturbing details behind this modern day form of slavery.  He has also shown Himself faithful as He rescues and restores girls using the hands of His people.  God is absolutely burdened for each and every victim!  He has made it clear that He desires justice and freedom for those who are enslaved!  So out of obedience to Him we have together decided to respond to the burden He has laid on our hearts.  We are traveling to Thailand to gain a broader understanding of this complex issue we are combating as well as bring the Gospel to a people group desperate for a message of hope.

Why in Thailand?  Bankok,Thailand is home to THE red light district!  Bangkok, Thailand is practically where commercial sex tourism began.  To put things into perspective,  other red light districts such as Amsterdam are known as the "Bankok of the west".

In Bankok you will find young girls dressed in skimpy tops, short skirts, and spiked heels working in numerous karokee bars and massage parlors all around the city.  The customers are mostly Westerners or East Asians who come by the hundreds of thousands each year specifically for sex tourism.

You might be surprised to learn that sex trafficking is actually illegal in Thailand, however the industry is thriving! The police in Bangkok not only look the other way but they are clients, and in addition, they often help the pimps and brothel owners. Despite the countless neon lights lining the streets of Bankok, this is a place full of darkness.  They need light....they need Jesus.

So what will you be doing there exactly?

For the first two weeks of our trip we will be teaming with a few different sex trafficking organizations who specifically work to rescue and restore sex slaves in Bankok. Each organization has a slightly different focus or approach to the issue; overall our goal is to work alongside them and experience the realities of this epidemic at a much deeper level.  We want to take off our comfortable American lenses and walk into this disgusting reality with eyes that might dare to see the responsibility we hold.  As we walk alongside these organizations we will gain a more clear perspective of the need in Bankok as well as a broader understanding of how we can help.  Overall, we will be doing what they do, walking where they walk, and helping where these organizations need help.  We are completely open to what the Lord is asking us to do with our time there.  We will be walking into a hopeless and desperate culture with a message of hope and restoration!  We are bringing passionate hearts, willing hands, and busy feet to Thailand.

During the last week and a half of our trip we will be working in a village towards the preventative side of sex trafficking in Thailand.  If the community is self-sustaining and established with an educational system they are less likely to sell their daughters into the sex industry.  We will be serving alongside a team from San Diego Christian College to further establish a specific village.  While there we will focus on building up a community of people who respect and protect their daughters.  We will build valuable relationships with these people while also helping them with various projects.

How can I help you?  Please pray for us! Your support is vital!! Those who are doing the supporting and sending are just as important as the ones being sent!  And we aren't just saying that because it sounds good...haha...we are both firm believers in the Lord and more than confident in the power of prayer!  And in addition to prayer, we absolutely need funds to get there, yes money! It's always a little uncomfortable to ask for financial support but we are trusting God's promise to provide for us.  And in addition to prayer and financial support we need you to pass our story along!  Please share this URL and give others an opportunity to join us in this fight against sex slavery!

This is happening in San Diego

SAN DIEGO — A federal indictment unsealed Wednesday names 24 alleged North Park gang members in a sex trafficking conspiracy involving dozens of underage girls and women.
According to the federal grand jury indictment, the local suspects are part of a nationwide gang involved in prostitution in 46 cities across 23 states. The racketeering conspiracy also involved murder, kidnapping, robber and drug crimes, according to federal prosecutors.
The nation organization is known as BMS, a combination of “Black MOB” and “Skanless” gangs, according to the indictment. It is affiliated with local street gangs including the Neighborhood Crips, the Lincoln Park Crips and the West Coast Crips, the indictment said.

The local gang members recruited girls and women from El Cajon Boulevard and other areas to work as prostitutes using social media including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to recruit young girls using rap videos and promises of a glamorous lifestyle, according to the indictment. Once recruited, gang members allegedly used threats and violence to force the victims into prostitution. They treated the girls and women like property, tattooing them with gang names, bar codes or the pimp’s names, according to the indictment.
“The kind of sex trafficking described in this indictment is nothing less than modern-day slavery,” U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy said. “Unfortunately, more gangs are expanding from traditional pursuits like drug dealing into this lucrative business.”
Early Wednesday morning, San Diego police, FBI agents and other law enforcement agencies served warrants and arrested 17 people in San Diego, Arizona and New Jersey, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. Four other suspects were already in custody, and the remaining three suspects are fugitives.
Prosecutors say the 60 victims included 11 minors. All were offered a help to start a new life, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
