Update #5

Update: I need more sponsors to raise $2,000 for the Hotel Con Corazon Foundation. Today I ran 16.3 miles non-stop in 10.33 per mile. It felt great, I am not going to have any problems running that marathon. Kenzie did 18 miles in 10.11 per mile........ yes she is clearly #winning. I can't wait for the Marathon to start (not, it is going to be very painful). Inspire us even more by donating towards Hotel Con Corazon!

More Info

Any donation will help to get Rens and Jans to their goal of raising $100,000 by July of this year. We are here to raise $2,000 which will go towards their goal. Here is how anyone can participate in getting better education in Nicaragua:

Buy a 'social share' of $600,- and become a shareholder of our hotel ! Your 'dividend' is paid in the form of one free night per night in our hotel (to save up to a maximum of 5 nights). You will receive an official certificate and shareholders will receive an honorable mention on a portrayal on the wall at the hotel.

Invest in our staff and pay the first month's salary and an English course for one of our Nicaraguan hotel staff members for $300,-. For this social investment you will receive an honorable mention on a ortrayal on the wall at the hotel.

Hotel con Corazón in León will have 22 rooms. So we need 22 of a lot of the inventory items. Help support the funding of 22 mirrors, 22 hammocks, 22 bedside lamps, 22 rocking chairs, 22 beds etc. You can already invest from $60,-. For this amount you buy two bedside lamps or a hammock. For twice the amount ($120) you can buy a nice rocking chair. For the 10-fold from $60  ($600,-) you buy a bed.

Please donate now.

Many thanks in advance,

Kenzie McKeon & Johnny Beenes

* In the unexpected event that Rens and Jans will not succeed in fundraising the total required amount, we will give you the option to get your investment back or donate it directly to one of our education programs.

Update #4

Wow! Longest and hardest 11 mile run ever..... that didn't feel Marathon worthy. I just need to get a good 15 mile run in next weekend. That should be a game changer. Kenzie on the other did a 17 mile run!!!! Wow! No doubt that she is going to be fine during the Marathon.

I ordered some new shoes and these shoes should make my runs a lot more comfortable.

Meanwhile please feel to Donate towards better education in Nicaragua - check out the website of the Hotel Con Corazon Foundation http://hotelconcorazonworldwide.com/expansion/nicaragua/crowdfunding

Update #3

Here is an update on our training progress:

Kenzie is just on fire: https://www.facebook.com/kenzie.mckeon.1/fitness_running?pnref=story
She did 14 miles on her last run, I did 12 miles last weekend and this evening I did a mere 8 miles: http://www.mapmyrun.com/workout/858870459?fb_action_ids=10153548448738032&fb_action_types=fitness.runs&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%5B940417392634985%5D&action_type_map=%5B%22fitness.runs%22%5D&action_ref_map=%5B%5D

My excuse for only doing 8 miles at such a slow pace? Taking business calls whilst running.

My goal for next weekend: 15 miles! (Gotta beat Kenzie!)

I am just keeping the main goal in mind, running the Marathon to raise some extra money which will be used to improve the educational system in Nicaragua.

Will keep you updated! Feel free to donate at anytime!

Update #1

Hotel Con Corazon - Nicaragua

We are running to support Jans, and Rens in their mission to open a second hotel in Leon - Nicaragua. The first hotel concept has proven to be very successfull and the second hotel will be build according to the same concept. that is currently successful running in building a comfortable middle-class hotel of which 100% of the profits will be invested in education in and around León. This allows more children to complete their school successfully and improve their future prospects.
