Avery and Aiden were gifted with the greatest mother, biggest advocate, and most devoted homeschool teacher imaginable. Her name was Jessica. When Avery was first given the diagnosis of Autism, Jessica did not take time to feel. Instead, she dove into researching the best therapies not only for Autism,  but for her unique and special Avery. She became the expert in all things Autism. Thus, when it came time for Kindergarten, and Jessica could not find a school quite right for her daughter's unique needs, she decided to take it on herself. Avery blossomed, quickly becoming an accelerated reader, just like her mom, soaking up lessons about Jesus and the Word of God. While this story in itself is inspiring, it is just the beginning. When Aiden began showing some signs of health concerns, she dove in to research once again, eventually helping in the diagnosis of his Celiac Disease. While many would struggle with this diagnosis, Jess never complained, joyfully modifying every single meal and snack to accomodate her son's very strict dietary needs.  Did I mention she is a military wife, often doing this on her own when her husband was deployed? She was quite literally SuperWoman. Thus, when she was diagnosed with Luekemia last October, the Thibado household nearly shattered. However, Jess continued to amaze me, by prepping Avery's school and applying for additional therapies from her hospital bed. That was Jess. She would do the impossible for her kids. However, on Mother's Day it became apparent that Jess was losing her battle with cancer. She had been completely non-responsive for the past few days, the doctors had concluded that she would not be coming back and was already mentally gone. However, in her last hour when we held the phone up to her and she was able to hear her sweet babies tell her they loved her and would see her again in heaven, sweet tears fell from her eyes. She did not move, she did not grimace, but she cried still tears of joy. The love a mother has for her children is so much deeper than anything of this world. That is God. Hold your sweet blessings today moms, and when you feel that overwhelming, undefinable, pure love for your babies, know that it feels not-of-this-world, because it is NOT of this world. That is just a glimpse of the love our Father has for us. Jessica was truly the most incredible mother. She never yelled, never lost her patience, always fought for her kids, and never once complained about the stress of homeschooling two children with very unique needs. Yet she would be the first one to always tell you that all of her strength and patience and perseverance for her children came from Jesus. While Avery and Aiden will no longer be able to have the greatest teacher on earther, I want to honor Jessica today by raising money for her little ones to be able to get as close as we can. I want the to have the therapies and education that their mama fought for until her last breath. Please help me continue Jessica's fight for her kiddos.
