We have the opportunity to ride in my brothers name in May at the National Police Memorial. We are employed to raise $2600 each to participate. I am grateful for this opportunity.

On September 1st 2013 my hero and brother Sgt. Derek Johnson a Draper City Police Officer was at the end of his shift when he stopped to help a vehicle on the side of the road. He was ambushed with gunfire and was fatally wounded and died. He left this earth in one of the most noble ways a man can. I have chosen to honor his life by choosing to do the same. I want to live my life doing noble deeds and helping those that stand in need of help.
Sgt. Danny Driggs, my brother Darin Johnson, myself, (Dayson Johnson) and Salt Lake City Sgt. Lisa Pascadlo will be going as a team to represent Sgt. Johnson on the ride. Sgt. Driggs' wife Mandy is going as our team support member. We ask for your support and your kindness to help us participate in this awesome opportunity.
On May 10, 2014, we will join nearly 1500 law enforcement officers from throughout the country who will bicycle along varying routes, each nearly 300 miles, to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC.
The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness about the police officers that have died in the line of duty. Our motto is, “We Ride For Those Who Died.” The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Since its’ inception in 1997, the Police Unity Tour has raised over $14 million to support the Memorial. It is because of your incredible level of support and financial contributions that we will be able to participate in the 2014 Police Unity Tour and ensure that the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice are not forgotten.
We are seeking your financial support in order to allow us to ride in this incredibly worthwhile event. Each rider and support member must raise approximately $2600 in order to participate in the Tour. The first $1850 is paid to the Police Unity Tour. This money includes a $1000 donation to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and $850 to cover support services, ground transportation, overnight lodging, and food (breakfast and lunch) while we ride. Donations to the Police Unity Tour are tax deductible (Tax ID# 22-3530541). If you are not concerned about the tax deduction, you may write a check directly to one of us, which will be applied to the cost of airfare and other expenses such as ride jerseys, bike shipment, etc, that we are responsible for. Any donated monies in excess of what is used for fare and expenses will be donated to the Police Unity Tour.
