About Me

I began volunteering with Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity in March 2012, shortly after relocating to Dallas, TX.  Fast forward seven years later and I am still a faithful Core Volunteer/House Leader with Dallas Habitat.  I am committed to the work that Habitat for Humanity does across the globe now more than ever.

I had the opportunity to take my construction “skills” near and far with four Habitat trips that I will never forget, all due to the support and generosity of my friends and family.  Because of contributions to my campaigns, I was able to spend a week in Amarante, Portual for a Habitat for Humanity - Global Village build, Memphis, TN for the 2016 Carter Work Project, Edmonton, AB, Canada for the 2017 Carter Work Project, and South Bend, IN for the 2018 Carter Work Project.

I am so excited to be a part of the 2019 Carter Work Project and look forward to making many, many more incredible Habitat memories.  Thank you in advance for your support whether it be good vibes or a few bucks, I appreciate every single one of you!  xoxo - Rhiana

About the 2019 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project - Nashville, Tennessee

After more than 35 years, the donation of time and hands-on labor by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, continues to inspire and multiply the influence of Habitat for Humanity in North America and around the world. Their participation in Habitat’s building projects raises awareness of the critical need for affordable housing – the heart of Habitat for Humanity’s mission.

Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project has drawn more than 103,000 enthusiastic volunteers from all walks of life since 1984. These volunteers have built, renovated and repaired 4,331 homes in 14 countries during the previous 35 projects to improve access to affordable housing. The 2019 Carter Work Project continues the tradition and will be hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville, where the project will serve 58 Nashville families. Future homeowners will work alongside President and Mrs. Carter and hundreds of other volunteers to build 20 new single-family homes during the Carter Work Project week. Twelve other new single-family homes and 26 new townhomes will be constructed by 2021 with the support of funds raised for the project.

Your support can help make homeownership a reality for those in need of decent shelter.

About Habitat for Humanity

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
