About People & Animal Learning Services (PALS): Healing through Equines

For over 15 years, PALS has been providing therapeutic equine programs designed to help people with a wide range of disabilities to develop skills and improve quality of life. Our programs have delivered over 10,942 therapeutic program and service hours to hundreds of individuals with a large range of disabilities & impairments (physical, cognitive, developmental, social & behavioral), at-risk youth and veterans ranging in age from 3 to over 64!  Our clients experience a variety of benefits such as:

• Increased Sense of Independence
• Increase in Ability to Follow Directions 

The PALS Herd

Our programs would not be possible without the help of our horses who make the PALS experience so unique and of course, fun! Each year these horses provide hundreds of hours of service for both mounted and unmounted program activities, allowing our instructors and volunteers to truly impact the lives of those we serve. PALS strives to provide the best care for our herd in order to prepare them to work in the program, ensure their long term health both during their years of service, and after their retirement. 

Full annual care for just one therapy horse costs PALS over $3,900 including their grain, hay, and necessary veterinary and farrier care, full board -- and with a herd growing to support our new and bigger programs, we're in need of your support.
