Please Help my Friend Shanker Maharajan in Nepal

Dear Family and Friends,I am sending out this plea for help on behalf of a friend, Shanker Maharajan, and his family, who were affected by the devastating earthquake in Nepal.I lived and worked for 3 years after college in Nepal, and Shanker became a good friend who looked out for me during that time. I had been praying about how I could help Nepal, when his email came.Shanker and all his family thankfully survived this tragedy, but their home has been damaged, and their livelihood has become non-existent. Shanker, with his uncle, has a small tailoring shop in the tourist section of Kathmandu that is the main source of income for his extended family. With the tourist industry decimated for the foreseeable future, Shanker’s family faces unimaginable uncertainty regarding their income.At this point, it is hard to say what the long term impact will be on Shanker’s family and business. My goal is to raise $200 in the next week to relieve his family's immediate subsistence needs, and to ease their emotional and financial burden. I would be so grateful if you could join me in helping my friend. Any contribution you make will go directly to Shanker and his family, to help with their recovery and aid his family in making the necessary repairs to their home and business.
