Unless you have been hiding under a rock the last 24 hours, you have all likely seen what has happened to our beautiful campus after the crazy flooding on iconic Sunset Blvd.

On July 29, 2014 a water main (that was 93 years old!) broke on Sunset that leaked now more than (approx) 10+ million gallons of water onto the streets and onto UCLA's campus.  About 35,000 gallons a minute was lost and the estimates are dire for what will be the next step in recovery efforts.

Luckily no one was injured as far as I know and some students even decided to have some fun on campus with all the water flowing through it.

"As the Los Angeles Times explains, officials are facing some tough questions this morning because it took them about four hours to figure out which valve needed to be closed. Meanwhile, water rushed into the campus, flooding many university buildings — including the track and field facility and Pauley Pavilion, which just underwent a $136-million renovation. At one point, , the pavilion was under 8 inches of water."

Here's Pauley after the renovation that was just completed 18 months ago!

And here's what it looked like last night!

Let's all do our part and do what we can to help in the recovery efforts and costs of getting things back to normal for our beautiful campus!  (and yes the city will need to answer and figure out how to offset the costs as well!!)

Rest assured that 100% of the costs will be donated directly to the UCLA Athletic Department and I will include the names of all of the donors on the check written out so that you are all acknowledged!

Go Bruins!
