About The Team

We are raising money to help Oakwood expand our campus!

Junior Kindergarteners are the adventurers of the Oakwood community. Friendly and effervescent, they enjoy experimenting with language, being read to, and acting out stories.

A happy balance of structured learning and exploration makes Junior K a joyful place to be!

Much of the learning at this age is through the large muscles, so in addition to fine motor practice and pre-reading activities, Junior K students are given ample opportunity to run, jump, cycle, climb, and dance. Learning takes place through a hands-on, multi-sensory approach at each level.

Oakwood’s breadth and depth of curriculum set it apart among various educational opportunities. The curriculum is solid, time tested, and continually reviewed to assure that we have the best resources to make learning come alive for our students.

On Fund Run Day, Jr. K students come alive as they have fun running, jumping, crawling and climbing on the track and obstacles.

More Info

The annual Oakwood Fund Run is just around the corner! It’s a chance for Oakwood students to improve their school through their own school spirit and participation.

The Fund Run has always been a special way for the Oakwood community to come together to support the school and celebrate our school spirit. Students will be running an obstacle course and laps on the field for 30 minutes with their grade level. Families are encouraged to come out and cheer them on! It’s a wonderful event and we encourage parent participation both on and off the field.

Proceeds this year will go toward the school's Spreading Our Roots campaign in support of the Campus Fund which includes a liberal arts building, a new gymnasium, and playfield to follow, that are part of our long-term vision. Construction is well underway and the buildings will be ready for students to utilize for the 2019-2020 school year. The addition of a new liberal arts building, gymnasium, and playfield, will ultimately advance Oakwood's ability to provide enhanced hands-on learning opportunities and expanded extracurricular offerings for our current students as well as sustaining this excellence for future generations.

This is your chance to make an immediate and lasting impact on Oakwood's future!
