Every day, our patients and staff are met with misinformation and harassment outside of our health center doors. We pledge to never back down. Together, we resist.

Update #2

Did you know that Colorado is a safe haven for people seeking abortions? It's not unusual for us to see out-of-state patients -- especially from Texas, but after their recent COVID-related ban on abortion, PPRM received 250 calls to our hotline. The patient visits from Texas doubled from the first half of March to the second, and we are seeing more calls from Louisiana (1,000+ miles away).

These uncertain times truly underscore the urgent need for access to health care. As our country grapples with a global pandemic, now more than ever we need leaders who will strengthen our health care infrastructure instead of actively working to undermine it. In times like now, we need more health care—not less.

We are facing real threats to reproductive care across our country. Anti-abortion politicians are taking advantage of a public health crisis to attack abortion rights—a new low, even for them.

This tactic is not new. Anti-abortion controlled states have been working to make abortion inaccessible for decades. And now, as states have banned access to abortion by declaring these crucial medical procedures as “nonessential”, these barriers to care have increased.

We know that abortion care is essential care. It has always been essential, and must remain so during this public health crisis. Delays or additional barriers to care make it difficult or even possible for patients to access safe, legal abortion.

Stand with us as we fight to protect abortion care in Colorado and New Mexico in a time where protecting access to reproductive care is more important than ever.

About Me

Hi everyone! I work for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. We serve Colorado, New Mexico, Southern Nevada, and Wyoming. Today, I'm fundraising for Together We Resist (for PP Votes Colorado) and Pledge-a-Protester (for PP Votes New Mexico), which is raising money to elect pro-reproductive health care champions into our state legislatures in 2020. In Colorado, we are facing a potential ban on abortion after 22-weeks with no exceptions. In New Mexico, we need to flip AT LEAST two seats to repeal an old, archaic abortion ban on the books. I'm asking for your help today because both Colorado and New Mexico serve patients outside of our states with more strict abortion restrictions. If we don't ACT to preserve our status as safe havens, people in our states and the states around us will need to travel even further to receive care. Whether it's $1 or $1,000, please help today!

More Info

Pledge Together is an annual fundraising campaign organized by Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountain Action Fund (PPRMAF) in response to politicians’ and protesters’ attempts to misinform, intimidate, harass, and shame our staff and patients. In the early 2000’s, these anti-choice protesters formed a campaign, known as “40 Days for Life", which organizes anti-reproductive health activists to protest outside of our health centers 24 hours-a-day for 40 days.

Our campaign serves to remind our staff and patients that we will never waver in our commitment to reproductive care, justice, and education – no matter who is pounding at our door. This is a crucial time for PP Votes New Mexico (PPVNM) and PP Votes Colorado (PPVC) to raise awareness about the very real experiences that some individuals face to access abortion services in this country. Nobody should have to face harassment or threats in order to provide or receive health care.

Last year, nearly 4,500 out-of-state patients visited a Planned Parenthood in Colorado or New Mexico for reproductive health care they could not access at home. Together, we pledge to protect the safe haven status, continue our work to protect and expand access to health care, elect reproductive health champions, and pass proactive legislation.

In spite of the protesters, radical politicians, and bad pieces of legislation, we pledge together to garner the financial support needed for the political work of PPRMAF to protect and expand access to the services provided by Planned Parenthood.

We will not be deterred. We will ACT, no matter what.

Under the umbrella of Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains Action Fund, Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado and Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico are 501 (c)(4) social welfare organizations, conducting political advocacy to protect access to the services provided by Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. A portion of your gift may be used to support pro-choice candidates. Gifts are not tax-deductible.

Update #1

18 cases in front of the Supreme Court this year threaten Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) and our work. With Kavanaugh and Gorsuch on the Court, previously litigated restrictions like mandatory admitting privileges at local hospitals will be revisited and possibly reverse course (from Hellerstedt to June Medical). With the conservative majority and multiple threatening cases coming up on the docket this year, Roe could become a paper tiger with no real teeth. Luckily, Colorado and New Mexico continue to be safe haven states. Last year, nearly 4,000 patients visited a PPRM health center in our two states to receive care they could not receive in their home state. We anticipate our safe haven role to be strained in 2020: 17 procedural health centers have been identified by Planned Parenthood as safe haven sites this year – four of them are PPRM: Denver 38th, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and Albuquerque. By donating to PPRM Action Fund, you are contributing to our efforts to reshape the legislatures in both states to protect and enhance reproductive freedom and justice. THANK YOU! #PledgeTogether
