HSU Educational Foundation

HSU Educational Foundation's mission is committed to encouraging excellence in education and inspiring innovation in the classroom. Solving real-life challenges, such as those posed by the critical need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among healthcare and first line essential workers, offers great opportunity to train and inspire innovation among the next generation workforce. Dr. Paul Hsu, HSU Educational Foundation President and Founder, was first inspired to develop this 501c3 not for profit organization to prepare students with the STEM skills needed to meet tomorrow's most high demand career fields. His commitment inspired others to roll up their sleeves and join in by supporting projects that strengthen critical thinking and problem solving skills, while answering real life challenges. The HSU Educational Foundation team, along with other community organizations and individuals, military members and industry mentors are working collaboratively to establish a PPE community production operation implementing design, 3D printing, collection, sanitation, packing and distribution of donated PPE. HSU Innovation Institute, located at 709 Anchors Street in Fort Walton Beach, Florida is the culminating location where students, professionals, educators, industry leaders and mentors will witness virtually or participate on-site in an effective and safe model of collaboration through steps of logistics and process engineering that inspires innovation and helps solve local need for PPE. This project, and others like this, are a training platform filmed and further extended for student impact even beyond the period of operation, hopefully estimated as a short term solution until supply chains improve.  The HSU Educational Foundation programs, workshops and camps span the realm of such topics as robotics, cyber security/ IT, UAV, entrepreneurship, leadership, career tech trades, aerospace engineering and many other exciting STEM fields.
