Students learn best when they are interested and it is connected to real life. The 7th grade team at Empower College Prep is collobrating to combine our subject areas to make learning fun! Our school, ECP, prepares low-income inner-city students for college by teaching rigorous content. Recently, our students, like many of us have become captivated by the recent Ebola outbreak. What a great opportunity to teach about cells and organs in science class, informational texts in english class, and equations in math class. Our students will create robust mathematical models to calculate the cost of combating the virus and the infection and mortality rates as well as brainstorming biological strategies to combat the virus. We are so excited! We hope you can be apart of it with us!
