One of the first times I had an encounter with Angela, the CEO of Midlands Fatherhood Coalition, she said something that really stuck with me - "Fathers are forever." Fathers do not only impact their children and families but leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. And when that legacy is a positive one it will drastically benefit our community a region. Most of you know how passionate I am about Columbia and am dedicated to the success and growth of this city. If we can help those who live here get the resources they need, we will create leaders that will make our entire region prosper. I know I would not be where I am with out the support of my father whose hard work I watched my entire life. He was truly an example to me and our family of selflessness, positivity and work ethic. The Midlands Fatherhood Coalition has an amazing track record of helping fathers from all walks of life. If you take the time to learn more about this organization - I know you will see why it is vital in creating future generations of leaders in our community.
In the age of Zoom meetings, it is important to have computers with cameras. Our team is looking to raise $10,000 for IT upgrades that will allow our intervention specialists to work one-on-one with fathers. During COVID, especially, it is both safer for staff, as well as being better for the fathers we serve.
