About The Team

When I came to Horizons a year ago I was excited and anxious to hit the ground running.  I truly had no idea of the magnitude of work Horizons does in South Georgia.  Not only are we providing life saving cancer screenings to our underserved neighbors, but the team at Horizons is passionate about improving health, educating our communities about healthly living. And,  they are dedicated to taking care of their patients.  I've witnessed patients talk about their health navigator at Horizons like they are family.  Some had no family, so our navigator was there for them.

If you had to pull out a check and pay for a colonoscopy today, for most of us it would be a challenge.. but for those without insurance or underinsured, it is an impossiblity.  I am proud to work every day to give everyone in our region a chance to catch cancer early and a chance at living a long healthy life.

I hope you will join me as we try to raise $50,000 in one day on April 30th.  That's a lot of money and a lot of work.. but with everyone pulling together I believe we can do it.  I'd like to raise at least $2500 to kick it off.  Please consider what ever amount you can donate.. it ALL goes to make South Georgia a healthier place.  Not a dime leaves South Georgia.  Together we can make it happen!  Join my team and Donate now by clicking the purple DONATE button at the top of my page!

During the organizations first annual Horizons “Day for Hope,” a day that leverages the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage generosity and philanthropic participation, every dollar raised will be used locally in South Georgia communities. For example: A one-time gift of $1,200 will provide mammograms for ten women. In addition to medical resources, Horizons also offers the community ongoing education about conditions such as cancer, obesity, diabetes, tobacco control and more.

Horizons has linked together with other organizations and individuals, making it possible to include all community members in Day for Hope. A day-long challenge campaign is scheduled to air on WALB that will include testimonials from patients, physicians, and community leaders.

The Day for Hope will also include a ribbon cutting and open house at the new office located at 2332 Lake Park Drive. Join us to raise Hope for southwest Georgia.
