We want to COLOR YOU CURED!

Did you know that approximately 2 in every 5 Canadians will develop cancer in their lifetime? 1 in 4 of those will die because of the disease. That means you, your child, your mother, father, aunt, uncle, grandparent or best friend- someone you love- either has cancer, will have cancer or will know someone affected by cancer in their lifetime.  It is estimated that in 2012, every day 500 people were diagnosed with cancer.

There were an estimated 186,400 NEW cases of cancer (not including over 80,000 non-melanoma skin cancer) in Canada for 2012. An estimated 75,700 Canadians afflicted with cancer died last year alone.

These are some pretty scary statistics (courtesy of The Canadian Cancer Society). Look around you; chances are someone you know - the cashier at Tim Hortons, your bank teller, your employee, coworker or boss- is affected by this disease right now.

The money we raise from doing the Color me Rad 5k will benefit the Alberta Cancer Foundation. Last year, they invested $28.3 million dollars to prevention, screening and research at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the Cross Cancer institute and 15 other community centres across Alberta. They are the single largest funder of research in Alberta, and invest $15 million dollars a year to support world-class cancer research.

We believe a cancer-free future is inevitable, it's just a matter of when. Let's work together and bring that day just a little bit closer to reality.

So, what can you do to help? You can pledge us. We'll do the running, you just need to open your wallet and plunk in some numbers for us. Join the fight for life; your donation can and WILL make a difference. Lets get together and help our friends, family and neighbors. Let's kick Cancer's ass!
