In January of 2012, I attended the Campus Pride Queer It Up! Action Institute at the Creating Change conference in Baltimore. From the moment I met Shane Windmeyer, Ted Lewis, and Nikita Burks, I was pushed to critically examine my own leadership and the impact of the St. Olaf campus organization, GLOW!. That summer I went to Camp Pride, learning about the importance of action planning and thinking through strategies as a student leader. Campus Pride was there for me when no one else was, and invested in my progress and success as a leader within the youth LGBTQ movement when my institution could not or would not. Campus Pride continually gives resources and opportunites to students from a wealth of backgrounds to learn, become better leaders, and transform their campuses. Campus Pride sponsors Stop the Hate Trainings, a scholarship data base (in conjunction with the Point Foundation), LGBTQ friendly college fairs, climate research, the Campus Pride Index, and a summer leadership institute called Camp Pride amongst other programs and initiatives. In order to give back to my favorite organization, as well as to the current student leaders on campuses across the country, I have decided to launch a fundraiser. On April 18th,  I will have a femme day. Just how femme I get, however, is up to you. With each dollar you give, you not only support LGBTQ students across the country, but you also get to watch me put on nail polish! This is a collective effort, and at each level, something else awesomely feminine happens (yes heels made the list). With each level reached, I will wear and/or do whatever it says in addition to the levels before that. For example, once you raise $100 dollars, I will paint my toenails AND my fingernails. I've posted the levels below! Let's have some fun! :)

  •  $ 50: Painted Fingernails
  • $100: Painted Toenails
  • $150: I will wear cute sandals
  • $250: I will wear a lovely, frilly blouse
  • $500: I will wear a skirt
  • $750: Hair down (middle part)
  • $1000: I will have someone put makeup on my face...including lipstick, but not eyeliner
  • $1500: I will side part my hair, straighten it, and wear clip on earings
  • $2000: I will wear A DRESS (and do the other stuff...oh my)
  • $2500: Eyeliner will happen ( I seriously hate eyeliner. Stuff makes me cry...no joke ask Marin Barnes)
  • $3000: Fancy nails (like manicure style...eww)
  • $4000: Heels
  • $5000: I wil actually pierce my ears
