We're nuts about nutrition and raising funds for Hale Makua Health Services in support of our Elders

We represent the Nutrition Services department at Hale Makua Health Services, which includes 50 care partners who are reponsible for daily preparation of over 1,000 meals for our nursing and care home residnets, and Adult Day Health clients.
About 80% of individuals who live at one of Hale Makua's nursing homes are unable to afford the cost of round the clock care and support provided. Funds raised will help provide financial assistance for these individuals.
Hale Makua Health Services has participated in the Hawaii Visitor Industry Charity Walk for over ten years. As a benefiting nonprofit organization of the event, the Maui Hotel & Lodging Association matches a percentage of the funds we raise. Plus, Hale Makua Health Services keeps 100% of the funds it raises. This year the 5k walk will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015.
Hale Makua Health Services is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, established in 1946 to provide a home for elders who had no one to care for them or means to pay for care. It is the only Eden Alternative registered home in the state of Hawaii, and is one of Maui’s largest non-government employers. Over 470 employees serve two nursing homes; a home health care agency; a rehab center specializing in both in and out-patient physical, occupational and speech therapies; an adult day health center; and an adult residential care home.
