This is a fundraiser for a Luna, a Black, queer non-binary artist and cherished community member who is the financial caregiver to vulnerable elderly and mentally ill family members. While also experiencing their own personal mental illnesses for years.
Luna is looking for financial support around their own mental and emotional health healing (including medication), to help support their family members, their housing security, basic living needs, reimbursement for school related costs, and their support animal’s vet expenses.
Despite this fundraiser having a bit of a longer timeline, we ask non-Black/non-Indigenous folks to respond with urgency. Being a caregiver, while also trying to support yourself can be a very isolating and complicated experience. However, it does not have to be when community commits to show out and up for those doing this work. This fundraiser will help Luna incredibly with their overall healing and will also allow them to access the stability/security they deserve.
A NOTE ON TRANSPARENCY + ACCOUNTABILITY:
They would like to be kept anonymous due to privacy/safety reasons and we will be using the pseudonym, Luna.
Yas ([email protected]) and Harmeet ([email protected]) are the accountability pod for this fundraiser, and will be fundraising on behalf of Luna due to safety/privacy reasons. However, Luna’s account details are attached for withdrawals and they have access to all the login information for this fundraiser. If there are other ways the community would like us to be transparent about this fundraiser, or need us to verify this fundraiser further - emails, dms and comments are open.
Non-Black/non-Indigenous folks, especially those with access to wealth/monetary resources please distribute to this fundraiser on an ongoing basis! This goal needs to ideally be hit before March 31st, with a monthly goal of $3000, over the next 5 months.
