The Story of Uniqkid

Hello my name is Anton Revich and I am the Co-founder of UniqKid, Inc. UniqKid is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization for youth with special needs. My goal is to have Uniqkid be a comprehensive organization that  allows for the largest integration of programming and services for the special needs community.  Starting with  Brooklyn, I want to create a platform, a true public voice, for those children who have been shied away to the sidelines by society. Anyone with mental and/or physically disabilities has the chance to and deserves to live a full and happy life just like my brother Daniel.

My increased interest in creating an organization of this extent was driven by my brother Daniel who was diagnosed with autism 10 years ago. Daniel is a bright 13-year-old boy who is social, loving, caring and who continues to overcome every obstacle that comes his way with the guidance and determination of my family and dedicated professionals. He has continued to inspire me by leading me to novel ideas and devising possible exercises for helping children with special needs. He was the driving force behind the body of ideas that lead to where we are today – forming the single most inclusive organization for the development and aid of the special needs community and its integration into our everyday society.

Throughout the years I have come across many individuals and families who shared my families existing day-to-day struggles. When I was 14 years old, growing up in Brooklyn, NY, I had the opportunity to join the staff team of a local community center that hosted programs for children on the Autistic Spectrum.  This program turned out to be the most challenging and the most rewarding experience I ever had. The parents were grateful for giving their children an opportunity to belong and experience childhood as any other child would. I began to ponder about other programs in the vicinity for youth such as my brother Daniel.  He has continued to inspire me by leading me to novel ideas and devising possible groups and programs for helping youth with special needs.

Daniel loves his cars and his obsession with them is just like that of any normal 13-year-old-boy. His greatest passion and aspiration is to become a bus driver like his father one day. UniqKid is striving to become a place where the youth with various needs can belong, can grow and who will receive a path to guide them to the future. A path where boys like Daniel can learn the skills that will prepare him and teach him to become a bus driver in future. But before one can run, he must walk. Perhaps Daniel can start by signing up to our Lego Club, our Fitness Center or the many other interesting extra curricular activities that are in store for the agency.

I hope you will consider helping Daniel’s achieve his dream and make mine come true as well, to open up an organization for youth with special needs in the community.

We have calculated a starting cost of $250,000 and are looking for the help of people like yourself, and many others, with hope to help us raise this amount. I am asking you to make the lives of many youth with special needs possible. Your support can be monetary or as simple as sharing this story to any individual that is willing to help.

Thank you.
