About The Team

We are the People of 1421. The caretakers and preservationist of history and legacy. For over 154 years this building has stood as a place of purpose, and for the last 100 years owned and occupied by the MW St. Andrew Grand Lodge A.F.&A.M. and Electa Grand OES of the AR for the State of Louisiana. This building stands because of the people of the past and today, and we invite you to join us in continuing to restore this building greater. We know you believe in preservation of history and its landmarks too, and we're asking for your support to help this building be restored.

More Info

Located at 1421 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, this beautiful 3-story historic building originally built in Circa 1866 was purchased by the MW St. Andrew Grand Lodge Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in 1920.

As one of the oldest buildings in New Orleans, LA, it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as a Contributing Element in the Central City Historic District.

Funds to restore the building will cover design and construction costs related to interior and exterior damage from extensive water infiltration, environmental damage over time, and insect damage.   Current building requirements and code updates for structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety are included along with a new elevator.

The Electa Grand Order of the Eastern Star of A.R. of the Rites of the State of Louisiana is a non-profit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
