There is an old saying: "You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes." Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® events ask men to literally walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes. It's not easy but it's a playful opportunity to rally support in our community and raise awareness about the causes, effects and remedies for sexual assault and domestic violence.
Haven Walk a Mile is the second annual event of its kind in Stanislaus County. Hundreds of men and boys from across the county will come together on Saturday, April 25, 2015, in Modesto, California, to walk (and occasionally fall down) against violence!
