Pick 2 Family Members. According to the CDC, one of you will develop diabetes in your lifetime. Many of our Nobles and Daughters or their family members never imagined that they would be the one diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Do you know that 29.1 million Americans live with the disease and of that, 4.9 million are African American adults that are diagnosed or go un-diagnosed with diabetes. We no longer have the luxury of being complacent about exercise, or watching closely what and how much we eat. Our lives, our limbs, our kidney’s, and our eyesight depend on it!

The mission of the National Diabetes Initiative (NDI) is to promote diabetes prevention and search for a cure of Diabetes.

For the 3rd year Kabala, lmran and Zafa Temples and Courts will once again participate in a joint 5K Walk.  This year, Kabala Temple and Court will be the host for this event. Our main goals this year are not only the meet and/or exceed our annual financial obligation to NDI through the Imperial Council, but to (1) increase participation in the walk by increasing our outreach to children, families, Masonic Lodges, Fraternities/Sororities, (2) to increase awareness of the prevalence of diabetes in our community and knowledge of available resources. When you donate, indicate Which Temple or court you are supporting:

Kabala Temple#177 or Kabala Court#67# ; lmran Temple#168 Imran Court#55 and Zafa Temple# 176 and Zafa Court#41 in your message. Donations to each Temple and Courts will be applied to their donations.
