As we step into the closing chapters of 2023, this year has been a profound journey of transformation and resilience for my family. Balancing the demands of motherhood with the abrupt turns of life, I, a mother of four have navigated through a series of challenges whilst keeping my hopes high for the best outcome.
At the beginning of the year, my family and I embarked on making a significant change—relocating to a new state. The anticipation of a fresh start was palpable, tinged with both excitement and uncertainty about what living in a new state would bring. However, fate dealt an unexpected blow when, in the midst of our preparations, we faced the untimely loss of my sister, my sole sibling, in May of 2023.
Despite the heartbreak, we redirected the savings intended for our move to honor her memory with a dignified farewell. Grieving yet resilient, we pressed on, completing our relocation in July, honoring the mission we had set out to achieve. The new surroundings brought beauty and a renewed sense of peace, but the challenges were far from over.
As I settled into our new home, the quest for employment proved to be a formidable obstacle. Despite my relentless efforts, job opportunities remained elusive, and the financial reserves that had sustained us has began to dwindle. Undeterred, I am pushing myself to new limits, still seeking opportunities to break through this phase.
This message is a prayer for support, a lifeline to help me weather this storm. Whether through employment opportunities, mentorship, or internships, I am open to learning new skills and trades that could enhance my professional journey. Even the smallest gestures, such as a resume revision, would rekindle the fading spark within me.
