THE SERIES

We live in an undeniably divisive political climate where distinctions are created based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and political party. However, the bathroom is one of the few spaces where we are all equal, and we all have to interact. And at Notre Dame Day, a prestigious private school in a conservative town, the girl's bathroom is the only place that connects Kahmilah, Zoe, Wynne, and Zafirah on their school's election day. Waiting to find out who will dictate the political future of Notre Dame, the girls' personal struggles boil to the surface. And fortunately, the mirror is there to witness it all.

MIRROR, MIRROR is produced by ARTEMIS, a feminist creative community that produces art and media by underrepresented communities at the University of Southern California.

MEET THE WRITER-DIRECTOR: Anngelica-Marie Eshesimua

Anngelica-Marie Eshesimua is currently studying the Business of Cinematic Arts at USC. A member of USC's Professional Cinematic Fraternity Delta Kappa Alpha, Anngelica has dived head first into producing multiple digital projects, from her Cultural Beauty Series to her first feature "Sunday Morning", which is running the festival circuit. Passionate about showcasing diverse subjects and stories, Anngelica serves as Co-Founder for Downbeat Entertainment, a student-founded production company that specializes in music videos and digital projects.  With "Mirror, Mirror," Anngelica hopes to shed a light on intersectional femininity in the communal and intimate space that is the high school girl's bathroom.
