Michallene Thacker-Mann fundraising for Forever Home Run

About Me

I've volunteered for the race and run the race; now I want to multiply my impact.

More Info

For the past seven years, the Forever Home Run race--held at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI--has attracted serious runners, recreational runners, and families with children—all of whom have a common interest in helping foster children find their “forever families”. As you may know, thousands of children in Michigan find themselves in foster care through no fault of their own and are in desperate need of a loving family. What's more, many experts believe that the population of foster children in our state will grow as a direct consequence of the pandemic and its impact on the stability of families. Now more than ever, these children need our support.

This year’s Forever Home Run (with both an in-person and virtual race option) will continue to benefit Lutheran Adoption Service (LAS)—Michigan’s largest foster care adoption agency serving children and adopting families from all walks of life. 100% of the net proceeds raised from this event will provide funding for projects which serve to enhance the effectiveness of LAS in adoption placement and adoptive family formation—projects that are not funded through core revenue streams from the state. These dollars, therefore, are hugely impactful and help the agency place more children in forever homes.

There are many ways to be a part of the event: participate in the race (register here); volunteer for the event (register here); become an event sponsor (email [email protected] for details); and/or donate to support the event and LAS.

Thank you so much for considering LAS and the Forever Home Run as causes worthy of support. Thank you for being a part of an initiative that will provide permanence, love, and belonging to children who have been without a forever family.
