Meals for Frontline Workers

From Shannon Dux

Let's come together as a loving community and show those on the frontline how appreciative we are of their sacrifice to help those in need. As a simple gesture, please help raise money to provide meals for them!

Update #8

A million thanks to everyone for their support – from liking/commenting/ sharing the posts, to those who donated and to our wonderful local restaurants who have gone above and beyond, you are all amazing.

The biggest thanks goes to our first responders who are working tirelessly, overwhelmed, and sacrificing so much to help us stay safe and get through this.

I have met some amazing people during this and glad I can now call them friends. I have had nurses on the front line, local restaurant owners and government officials checking in on me when I had a mild fever – I should have been the least of their concerns but they took that moment to care and I’m forever grateful. Our community is truly amazing.

Through your generosity we have helped feed hundreds of first responders at Beaumont Royal Oak, Beaumont Troy, Royal Oak Police & Fire Departments, plus countless more who have taken advantage of free meals at participating restaurants.

Please continue to support your local restaurants like our devoted partners at Montage Grill, Barb’s Pasties and Pizza, Golden State Chef, Brown Iron Brewhouse, Blaze Pizza in Royal Oak, locally owned Subway, M Street Bakery, Pronto’s, Café Muse, Old Bruce J BBQ, Kouzina, Seasons 52 and Billy Sim’s BBQ in Troy.

To date, over 700 tummies have been filled in April.

Remember to spread love during these trying times

More Info

Let's keep the love going.  To date we have served over 700 meals to front line workers and hope to continue to put a smile on workers who give so much.  Additionally would like to extend to help feed senior community centers as they are struggling right now and could really use a simple break.

With your support we will have serviced Beaumont Royal Oak (including their respiratory department, 8 Center (covid unit), laboratory), Royal Oak Police Department, Royal Oak Fire Department, Beaumont Troy respiratory department and many more!

We have partnered with amazing local restaurants for this initiative - Brown Iron Brewhouse, Montage Grill, Barb's Pasties & Pizzas, Blaze Pizza (locally owned), Subway (locally owned), M Street Bakery, Cafe' Muse, Old Bruce J BBQ, Pronto's, Kouzina and more to come!

Each meal is approx. $5-$15 per person

The more we raise the more people we can support and the more that goes back into our community!

Update #1

From the bottom of my heart, I am overcome with all the love shown by the community. We have more than doubled the original goal which not only helps feed more first responders but allows us to help more local restaurants. I am overcome by the generosity of this community and cannot thank you all enough. I will continue to post updates and photos but wanted to share the impact we are making. As I have spoken to each of these first responders they are overcome by the generosity of the community and have deeply expressed their gratitude for thinking of them.

• Brown Iron Brewhouse will be delivering lunch today to the respiratory department at Beaumont Royal Oak
• Blaze Pizza has donated FREE pizzas that will be delivered to both the respiratory department at Beaumont Royal Oak later this week and the Royal Oak police department
• M Street Bakery will be delivering all types of sweet goodies to the respiratory department at Beaumont Royal Oak on Friday
• Subway (locally owned) will be delivering sandwich meals to the Royal Oak Fire Department this week and the Beaumont Royal Oak respiratory department next week
• Montage Grill and Barb’s Pasties and Pizza has meals available to order for first responders who show their ID (first responders simply need to place an order and note they are a first responder and then show ID).
• PLUS we are still doing more work that is being finalized with partners like Old Bruce J BBQ, Café Muse and Kouzina

I have chosen to support the respiratory department as much as we can as they noted that they had several partners fall through, several of their staff have fallen ill and they are in dire need of a morale booster. They are overcome by the love of everyone and wanted to send a HUGE THANK YOU! (As did everyone we are donating to!)

We will continue to deliver food and support the community until we run out of money. I have opened up the end date of the campaign so we can keep this going!
