Making a Difference for Mercury One

From Justin Adkins

Though still a fairly young organization, Mercury One has striven tirelessly to help aid and uplift numerous communities and groups in need. No mission is too small or unimportant.

Update #1

So today is day one of a twenty-two day effort to raise money and awareness for Mercury One. Mercury One does so much amazing good for individuals, organizations, and communities here in the U.S. and abroad. I've decided to turn my birthday, and this quick countdown to it, into a humble effort to do some good for a charity that does so much for so many.

Any amount you can donate would be awesome and go a long way to helping the organization with their day to day needs and expenses so they can focus more on those places and people and that need their attention.

fundly.com/making-a-difference-for-mercury-one is the address. I thank you for any help you can bless them with.

More Info

My name is Justin.  I'm a struggling writer and artist living in Mississippi. On July 22, another birthday for me will come to pass.  A typical year might see me receiving a few gift cards from friends and extended family; a book or two from my wishlist; money for clothes or movies even.  Last year was the best yet with a much needed car from my amazing dad.

Feeling incredibly blessed, I have decided that this year, I want to direct as much attention to an organization I am immeasurably proud to stand with rather than ask for or expect any for myself.  Mercury One is a breakthrough in community assistance, upliftance, and mobilization.  No mission is too small, too far away, or too unimportant for them to undertake.

Barely a few years old, Mercury One has already made a name for itself in its drive to be first on the scene in disaster areas, helping devastated communities get back on their feet faster and without the heavy reliance on government aid.  Fleets of frieght trucks have been put on the road within hours of events like the recent tornadoes that tore across the South, the wild storms that barreled and beat a healing Oklahoma, and even all the way back to hurricane Sandy.  Each one carrying packed trailers of food and supplies: deliveries of hope and help to those places where both are needed most.

Their mission doesn't just revolve around disaster relief.  Mercury One extends its reach to ally with faith-based organizations to provide food to the needy.  They believe in strong and healthy education, from raising money and awareness for various American history museums and archives, to developing and supporting grass-roots efforts to expose threats like Common Core.  Mercury One also believes in the arts, establishing a fund last year meant to empower those seeking to create positive culture in honorable ways.

Recognizing need without ideology, Mercury One most recently has stepped to the plate to raise money for the children and families that have crossed and are stuck at the border in Texas and Arizona.  The situation has become critical.  Churches in these areas, along with other organizations, have reached a point of desperation as they struggle to provide the basics like food and water.  The situation may be volatile politically, but the politics don't change the reality of the humanitarian crisis swelling to unprecidented levels.

It's not about who you are.  It's about what you do and who you want to be.  Malice toward none and charity for all.

I want to be a help to the helpers.  That's why, for my birthday this year, I'm raising money to help Mercuy One with their needs as they help others in communities near and far with theirs.  Will you help?

Thank you so much.

Most sincerely and from the bottom of my heart,

-Justin.
