As most of you know, our beautiful Lauren has been diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. CML is a cancer of the white blood cells. It is a form of Leukemia characterized by the increased and unregulated growth of myeloid cells in the bone marrow and the accumulation of these cells in the blood. Luckily the doctors found it early on, and the progressive treatments have proven successful in similar cases. Nevertheless Lauren's journey with cancer treatment will be a fight and we need to show her our support and love. Since many of us live all over the country (some in distant parts of the world) we have come up with this fundraiser to send a collective gift to Lauren during this tough time.
Lauren is an amazing sister, best friend, mentor, and leader... if she has touched your life in any way please consider donating to this group gift. We are asking for a $20 donation. The Love for Lauren fundly.com page accepts all major credit cards. Of course you can donate more or less if you choose. Whatever amount we have at the end of July 2013 we will use to purchase a meaningful gift for Lauren. If you choose to donate, your name will be included in the card (please let us know if you would like to accompany your name with a personalized message).
Because anyone who knows Lauren knows her love for fashion we would like the group gift to be a pair of fabulous heels - partnered with a message "Kick Cancer's Ass Lauren!" (Something totally different than the standard flowers! Even more importantly she can keep them forever, wear them to remind herself of her ability to conquer anything and of all the people who love and care about her deeply.) We will post a picture of the shoes and card on this before we send to Lauren. Our ultimate goal is to reach $1000 - so that we can surprise Lauren with a pair of Louboutins - something she has always wanted.
