LEO'S MISSION III

From Becca Tatusko

Hi, I'm Leo! I'm raising money to buy stuffed animals for the kids at Mass General hospital so they have furry friends to accompany them through hard times. Thank you so much for your donations and support!

More Info

In February, 2016, Leo was admitted to Mass General Hospital where he was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC). Leo had lost a significant amount of weight, and the medications they were trying took a long time to work.  It was weeks before Leo was well enough to return home.Leo was lucky to have support from all of his friends and family who made time to wish him well. Many other children at the hospital weren't as lucky, they didn't have family around or didn't receive any gifts. After 19 days, Leo was well enough to go home. Remembering how much better all of the Legos and stuffed animals he received made him feel, he decided to make it his mission to be sure future patients of Ellison 17 and 18 felt that same way.  Leo's mission is to make every child feel loved and to supply them with a stuffed animal to help them through this scary and stressful time. Leo reached his first goal and was able to donate 300 stuffed animals and $1,600 in gift cards February 2017! In 2018, Leo raised 150 stuffed animals and $500 in gift cards to donate. In 2019 Leo hopes to raise $550 and 250 stuffed animals.
