About Me

I am honored to be the president of the board of directors of this compassionate, community-minded organization. To me, Kevin Guest House perfectly represents Buffalo's motto of "The City of Good Neighbors." It has provided a safe, secure and supportive environment for nearly 56,000 guests who traveled to Buffalo for medical care, and needed a place to stay during a difficult time. Kevin Guest House never turns anyone away due to their inability to pay for their stay. However, it doesn't receive any government support, and has been able to carry out its critical mission for 47 years solely because of the kindness of its friends and financial supporters. With our recently completed expansion, we anticipate offering comfort and support to 2,000 additional guests each year. This is only possible because of the great generosity of friends like you. I would be grateful if you would support our vision – to ensure families have a place to stay while receiving specialized medical care in Buffalo. Thank you.

Help the KGH board of directors and friends of the house raise the $60,000 we need to close our first expansion campaign. With just 2% left of our $3 million goal, we're so close!

You can continue to provide a home away from home for families in medical crisis. The opening of our fourth building, the Russell J. Salvatore House on the Kevin Guest House Campus allowed us to double the number of guests we can serve, keep families together with larger suites and for the first time in our history offer handicap-accessibility. A gift of any size matters!

Responding to needs. That's what Cy and Claudia Garvey did in 1972 when they opened Kevin Guest House. While it was a tribute to their son, Kevin, who died of leukemia at age 13, it also filled the need the family saw as they traveled from Pennsylvania to Buffalo for treatment. They witnessed parents, spouses, and children, sleeping in cars and on hospital benches to be close to their loved ones, unable to afford a hotel stay.

We continue to respond to the needs of those traveling to Buffalo to seek critical medical care. That led us to launch our first capital expansion campaign. The Russell J. Salvatore Hospitality House doubled our capacity to serve and made our campus handicap-accessible for the first time.

After nearly four years of hard work, our fourth property opened in August of 2018. We are so close and have just under $100,000 left to raise to finalize our campaign. Please help us and be a part of what the Garvey's started more than 47 years ago with your donation.
