Joyce and Michael Curcio have devoted their lives to providing for their now grown five children. In early 2010 they sold their long time home in Parsippany, NJ and used the money to fully finance their dream home in Seaside Heights, NJ which was left to them and Joyce’s sisters after their parents’ deaths in the early 2000’s. The home in Seaside was a very small and quaint ranch situated on Hiering Avenue and it had been in the family since the 1950’s when it was originally built. Joyce and Michael believed they had finally found themselves in a home where they could soon retire and focus on their growing immediate family’s needs with new coming grandchildren and in-laws.

Sadly, as a result of super storm Sandy, Joyce and Michael were tragically ripped away from their home. The storm washed away the majority of the homes foundation and decimated the property. The house was no longer livable.

It is now known that the house must be demolished and rebuilt from the foundation up, as well as completely rebuilding the backyard and dock, which once kept the lagoon separate from the home. FEMA has offered small monetary assistance, but it will truly only suffice to pay for a rental for Joyce and Michael to live in while they attempt to demolish and rebuild their home.

Insurance has denied all claims and Joyce and Michael are left only with a savings account that is quickly depleting. Our goal is to raise at least 50,000 dollars in the next year to build a home that will last for generations to come. Michael is a General Contractor who has the resources and skills to create a home that will last, but $50,000 is just a starting point wherein they can begin working towards rebuilding. They currently need around $8,000 in the next month to just demolish the home, which they cannot currently afford.

Joyce and Michael are also parents to three children with neuromuscular diseases. This will require extra expenses such as building ramps and accessible spaces in the new home.

Joyce and Michael have poured out their blood, sweat and tears for nearly forty years just to scrape by and provide in any way they could. Now we are asking the greater community to help and do what YOU can to show these two individuals and their children what love looks like. We need YOUR help.

As a family we will also delight in all prayers and further sharing of our story. Thank you all and may God’s Blessings and Grace be extended into your home daily.

If you are unsure if this is real and trustworthy or if you feel uncomfortable using your credit card (I tried to setup PayPal) but still wish to donate please feel free to email me at [email protected] that is my personal email address and I can be reached at anytime. I will even exchange my cell phone number. Every penny helps, really we mean that.

Asking for help is a fear-inducing process, no one desires to burden one another, but Christ calls all humans to take up each other’s burdens and offer a self-sacrificing love as He did and does daily. Any and all donations are appreciated, no matter the amount.
