Libby, a gifted writer and a mom, needs to jump start her writing career by attending a professional writers summit this October. Please help her attain her dream. Every dollar helps her reach her goal. In Libby's own words . . .
"My name is Libby Manz. I was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago where I lived until I was 18, when I went to Southern Illinois University to study big animal pre-veterinary medicine. I left there a few weeks later with some people headed to California to hop on Phish tour. I travelled in a van for 3 years, landing in Aspen, Colorado for a few years after that. When I was injured in a professional snowboard race, I returned to Chicago to study history, and earned a masters in teaching secondary social studies. I taught for 8 years on the Southside, then earned a leadership degree and became a dean of discipline and culture, which I continued for 6 years, 3 of which were back in Colorado. I got married and had children, and couldn’t leave them to go back to the daily grind of working in schools. So, I have been a stay at home mom ever since. I love to write, to tell stories, and to be with my children as much as possible. I have always dreamed of writing as a profession, but had no idea where to start. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity as I know it will begin the next chapter in my life."
The Storyteller Foundation has been granted IRS tax-excempt approval. Any donation made on behalf for Libby Manz is tax deductable. When you contribute to Libby's cause, you will recieve a verification receipt today and also a copy in January 2021. Thank you.
From the beginning, it was always the word. Through the unique ability to imagine and connect to one another through words, humankind stepped into greatness.
Had it not been for Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables, our hearts may never have known compassion for the poor.
Had it not been for Harriet Beecher Stowe’s Uncle Tom’s Cabin, there may have never have been a civil rights movement.
Had it not been for Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, A Ghost Story, there may never have been the charitable component associated with the holiday.
We need one another. Had Ernest Hemingway not encouraged J.D. Salinger, there may never have been The Catcher in the Rye
The writer’s life can be lonely, so it is important to connect them with professionals who can support them in their storytelling and a lifetime of stories.
We see people, not writers. We are inspired by their passion and their willingness to give themselves up for their story.
We see equal value in all writers. We are dedicated to improving the lives of every storyteller we work with.
We build partnerships around the world with like-minded dreamers interested in building a better tomorrow through the future of storytelling.
The Mission of the Storyteller Foundation is to elevate the human experience through stories that inspire and encourage.
