About The Team

Prior to arriving in Columbia three years ago, I had always directed my community service energy on organizations that provided support for at-risk youth (I previously served on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of West Georgia).  After becoming familiar with MFC through my experience with Leadership Columbia, I realized that, if true to its mission, MFC can actually solve some of the contributing issues that cause children to become at-risk.  Since joining the board and now serving as board chair of MFC, I marvel at the dedicated staff who work each day to improve the lives of others.  The staff is remarkable, but they need assistance at the present time.  The COVID-19 pandemic has transitioned much work to the virtual environment and this has highlighted deficiencies in our current technology - namely outdated computers.  During this peer-to-peer campaign, I give to support the mission of MFC - I give to support the MFC staff who are working in person and virtually to support fathers in our community - I give because an organization that is making a difference in our community needs to buy new computers.  I hope that you will join me in making a donation; any size is appreciated.

In the age of Zoom meetings, it is important to have computers with cameras.  Our team is looking to raise $10,000 for IT upgrades that will allow our intervention specialists to work one-on-one with fathers. During COVID, especially,  it is both safer for staff, as well as being better for the fathers we serve.
