Raising funds to help our friend Dave Morrison, who lost all of his possessions in an apartment fire. Dave has recently accepted a new job, and will be resettling in Seattle. He needs new stuff for his new home!

As per instruction from Dave, the Fire Fund has been shut down. Today I had the money wired to Dave's bank account. Needless to say, he was both thrilled and humbled by everyone's generosity. Dave continues to be amazed by the amount of money this fund raised, and truly touched by everyone who donated. It will be put to good use in helping him to find and furnish a new apartment in Seattle, as he begins a new chapter in his life.
Many thanks to everyone who donated. You've proven that in the midst of all the animosity that has been produced in certain circles...
Love will still prevail.

Do you know Dave Morrison? He's a pretty cool guy. Amongst other things, he's
a sign language interpreter
an actor
a writer
a scuba diver
a lover of all creatures great and small
a fighter for human rights
and a gay guy who loves his mom.
He's also the victim of an electrical fire that on March 13th destroyed his apartment and his possessions. Luckily Dave was at work and thus safe, but he lost everything - his furniture, his clothing, his personal items. He was left with basically the shirt on his back.
Although Dave did have renters insurance, due to policy limitations he will not receive full compensation for everything he lost. So basically he has to start over, which he will be doing in a big way, as he recently accepted a new position in another city. He has to cover the expenses of finding, securing, and moving into a new apartment and then replacing all of the items he lost - new furniture, new household items, new clothing, etc.
Let's help him get resettled! Every cent you give will help Dave to move forward and start fresh with a new job, a new home, and a new outlook on life. So many of you have given already, for which he is truly grateful, But let's not stop now...we have just a bit further to go to achieve our full goal.
