About Me

I've worked in the field of Behaviour Analysis for over 10 years, supporting children and adolescents with an autism diagnosis. In that time, I've witnessed the struggles caregivers face in navigating the abundance of information about autism, and it's treatments.  Families are in a vulnerable state when seeking treatment, and I've found the resources provided by Association for Science in Autism Treatment to be helpful to both caregivers and service providers.

I am thrilled to have the  opportunity to participate in the One Hour Long Cycle event, which is allowing me to apply my passion for kettlebell sport to raising funds for a cause, and organization close to my heart.  Working with individuals with autism, I've had the chance to support them through their struggles, and celebrate their achievements- they'll  be my inspiration during the One Hour Long Cycle Event, on October 18, 2014.

More Info

On October 18th, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. (PDT), participants of the One Hour Long Cycle (1HLC) and Kettlebells 4 Autism (KB4A) event will be raising money to benefit the not-for-profit organization, Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT).  Satellite locations are welcome anywhere and can include a single lifter or many lifters.  All paricipants will begin their 60 minutes of long cycle movement, at the same time, no matter where in the world they live, alone or with a group!

1HLC is an annual kettlebell lifting charity event that allows people from around the world to join each other for 60 minutes of continuous lifting in order to raise funds for an annual of charity.  Previous years have included participants from Japan, Canada, Kazakhstan, Singapore and the U.S.  Previous beneficiaries have included the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, and V Foundation for Cancer Research.

This year 1HLC is collaborating  with Kettlebells 4 Autism to raise funds for the Association for Science in Autism Treatment.  ASAT is an organization committed to serving families affected by autism by improving their access to sound, science - based information regarding the broad aspects of living with and effectively treating autism.  The funds raised by this event will be directly donated to ASAT and will contribute to their goal of creating and disseminating an information resource for parents and other caregivers of newly diagnosed children.  The resource booklet will support family members in becoming savvier consumers and advocates.  ASAT will provide donors with receipts for tax purposes.
