About Me

My first Habitat experience was in 2011 with a program through Habitat for Humanity International called the Learn and Build Experience (LBE). LBE trips bring together individual students from across the world to spend a week learning about the mission and values of Habitat while also working on a build site. After my first trip, I was hooked. Over the years, I've completed three of these trips, attended and presented at two HFHI Youth Leadership Conferences, attended Habitat on the Hill, and currently serve as the President of the Houston Habitat Young Professionals group. I think that ones' initial experience with Habitat determines their future involvement; I met my two current best friends through Habitat, and that by itself is enough to keep me coming back for more.

I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to participate in the JRCWP 2016; I never thought that I would be able to achieve something on my bucket list before my 22nd birthday!

Help families in Memphis build strength, stability and independence.

Despite Memphis’ rich history and culture, nearly 1 in 3 Memphis residents live below the poverty line, and about 1 in 10 Memphians have an income at 50 percent or below that level.

Together we can make a difference!

President and Mrs. Carter will join the people of Memphis and hundreds of volunteers to build and revitalize the Uptown neighborhood just north of Memphis’ historic downtown. Your generous support will ensure the success of this project.

About the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project:

Often referred to as Habitat for Humanity’s “most famous volunteers,” President and Mrs. Carter give a week of their time each year to help Habitat build, renovate or repair homes in order to shed light on the critical role decent housing plays in helping families build strength, stability and independence.  Through the years, Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project has drawn more than 92,260 enthusiastic volunteers who have rolled up their sleeves and done what’s needed to improve access to affordable housing. These selfless volunteers have built, renovated and repaired 3,944 homes in 14 countries since 1984.
