About The Team

My name is Brooklynn Nichols and camp is what I look forward to all year round. Camp is something that not only helps me as a volunteer but something each camper looks forward to each summer. Camp is nothing short of a life changing experience. I have been volunteering at camp for 4 years and it has only gotten better each year. Through these years I have developed amazing relationships with not only other volunteers but the campers as well. These kids that attend the camps are what makes me the person I am today. Each and every one of them have amazing strength, drive, heart, and are just all around remarkable children. Anyone who knows me personally knows how much I love camp because I am always trying to share my testimonies from this camp. From children with cancer to children in a wheel chair and so much more this camp reaches out and touches the lives of children every day. A camper once wrote “Camp makes having cancer worth it.” If camp really makes having cancer worth it then can you even imagine what this camp does for these children. Camp strives to make an environment where illness does not define a child and every year this is met. So many children that come to camp say their favorite part about it is that for once they feel normal. So ask yourself, what a better cause than to help these children feel normal for a week? Donate today to help me reach my goal of never turning a child away because of money!

More Info

Camp Champ Challenge is a new fundraising event where participants form teams of 5 and compete against each other throughout the night in individual, partner and group challenges. Teams are encouraged to recruit people to be in their “Fan Club” to help cheer them on that night. Each team will be assigned a very special Cavett Kid to be their "Camper Coach" during the event. It will take place at Riverwind in Norman, OK on May 30, 2014.

The challenges will be based on four categories: Sensory, Physical, Artistic and Intellectual. They will be fun and interactive, and some may even give participants a chance to experience what it is like to be a Cavett Kid. Points will be awarded in several ways, such as winning a challenge, most fans recruited, most money raised, best costumes, etc. To keep things fair and square, the specific details of the main challenges will remain a secret until they are announced at the event. There will be other small challenges that will be shared with the teams so that they can come prepared!

After the main challenge is over and the points are tallied, the top 3 teams will be sent to the bonus round and given a special challenge, “Danny’s Challenge,” to determine who the overall Camp Champs will be. Once the Camp Champs have been announced, the event will end with a Camp Dance where a Camp King and Queen will be crowned. Nominations for King and Queen will be open to the public… The more nominations, the more opportunities we have to spread the word about Cavett Kids!
