About Me

My name is Carrie Clogg and I have been a supporter of Habitat for Humanity since 2014. I have participated in over 20 builds across the United States and now it is time to make my dream come true and go Global! I have wanted to do a global build for many years to expand my knowledge of housing needs throughout the world while continuing to help. Your donation is 100% tax deductible and goes directly to Habitat for Humanity International to assist with the Honduras build. My travel costs are not included in this fundraising amount and will be provided by me. I hope you will consider supporting my efforts to assist many families in need of safe and decent housing.

More Info

Honduras is one of the poorest and least developed countries in Latin America, and nearly two-thirds of Hondurans live in poverty. Before 1998, Honduras had shown moderate economic growth as a result of government reforms. But in that year Hurricane Mitch inflicted $3 billion in damage on the country, and Honduras’ economy is still recovering. The agriculture sector, responsible for most exports, was hurt the most.

Since its founding in 1988, Habitat for Humanity Honduras has built more than 10,000 houses, providing simple, decent and affordable shelter for more than 35,000 Hondurans in need of earthquake-resistant houses made with concrete floors, block walls and corrugated zinc roofs.

Global Village is Habitat for Humanity’s international volunteer program. Teams travel to over 40 countries to work alongside communities, build housing solutions, and experience local culture. Our goal is to change the lives of the people we serve, as well as the lives of the volunteers.

About Habitat for Humanity International

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in more than 1,300 communities throughout the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
