Hey everyone! Help me support Lens on Life! I met the founders of Lens on Life through mutual friends while working as an medical intern in New York, and wanted to support the organization through joining the Bike for Lens on Life ride. Lens on Life is struggling to continue paying their teachers and educators due to the COVID pandemic, and needs our support.
We will be riding over 100 miles in one day from NYC to Philadelphia. Why? We are raising money for Lens on Life Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports photography and computer literacy training for at-risk youth around the world. Lens on Life has taught photography and computer skills to hundreds of youth in the DR Congo, Zaatari refugee camp and Iraq, providing an outlet for self expression and qualifications to enter the global job market.
The impact of COVID-19 has hit Lens on Life hard. We have had to postpone various fundraising activities and reroute funds to support COVID-19 health and safety response. Funding for teachers and crucial equipment is at risk. We need your support to continue payroll for teachers during and after the crisis and support continued programming for the vulnerable youth in our schools.
