Adopt a Vet for Christmas
The American Legion Riders Post 12,232 Union Ave. Somerville, is once again sponsoring the ADOPT A VET FOR CHRISTMAS program .at the Lyons VA Hospital.
This year's goal is to raise enough money to buy presents and have a special dinner for almost 300 veterans at the Lyons Hospital, on the 20th of December 2014. This very worthwhile program helps the veterans who reside in the nursing facility, veteran's housing units, and the PTSD unit. We spend approximately $50.00 on each of our vets, but whatever amount you're comfortable donation would be greatly appreciated. The American Legion Riders is totally comprised of volunteers. EVERY dollar donated goes to this Christmas party for our war heros. Your donations are NEVER spent on anything other than our veterans ... as we have no overhead and no expenses! Please share the holidays with one of our nation's heroes ... who have given so much for all of us.
