A Tiger In Need

A Tiger In Need

From Jessica Werling

A tiger exhibit is taking donations to improve their enclosure with a pool and fountain designed by LSU students. Please help me help the tigers have a better home!

While driving down the highway in Louisiana, I noticed a 'Live Tiger' exhibit at a truck stop.  This upset me greatly because I do not think any animal should be exploited for business or any other reason.  I decided to investigate the situation and found the exhibit's website: http://www.tigertruckstop.com/htmls/facilities.htm

The owners have placed 3 of their older tigers in a conservation and have raised the current tiger since he was a cub.  They are looking for a companion for him and to improve the enclosure by installing a pool and a fountain and possibly other amenities.  I would love to see them place the other tiger into a conservation and get rid of the exhibit altogether, but I don't see that happening, so I if the tiger will be there, I would love to help it get a better home that it can enjoy.

I am going to contact the owners and get specifics on pricing for the installations and will post those goals shortly.  In the meantime, any donations to help 'Tony' have a better life, would be greatly appreciated!  I plan to match all contributions up to $1000 (its all I can do at the moment) but I really think this is for a good cause and I hope you do as well.

Sincerely, Thank You!
