OUR HOPE: That our Dogs will inspire you to gear up, lace up and join-in with a helping Paw!

MISSION: To be their chance at life when others cannot or will not help. To be that rescue that can say yes to dogs in dire need of medical care. To provide a safe haven for moms with litters of babies trying to survive on the streets not even able to care for themselves. To give a safe haven to the old who’s bodies and in need of tenderness. To give a chance at life to the young and playful who never got a chance to show their true colors!

WHAT KEEPS US GOING: The look in their eyes where they feel human kindness and even those in extreme pain as they put their trust in you. Their loyalty and commitment to humans even after enduring such hardships is a lesson for us all.

WHAT WE BELIEVE: That we can inspire a new generation of society that will change the throw away mentality of our most loyal companions. That with each dog we rescue who is altered means thousands less will be born homeless.

WHO WE ARE: We are a Non Profit all Volunteer supported organization with strong goals and leadership that gives support to the rescue communities across southern California and surrounding areas. We help for need and not for breed. Labs and More Rescue is one of the most active and determined rescue organizations in California. We are here to stay!

WHAT WE DO: We provide refuge for medical needs dogs when most cannot. We drive hundreds of miles weekly saving dogs from shelters often on their last day of life.  We rescue hundreds of mom’s and their babies who are confronted with harsh realities of living on the streets where most do not survive. We work hard to unite families with dogs in their new forever homes. We enjoy fostering these special animals and we love what we do….one dog at a time.

Playa almost 2 years old spent her whole life living on the end of a 4ft chain tied around her neck. Her food was scarce and her water only what her family gave her when they remembered. She did not have a blanket or a rug all she had within reach of her 4ft world was a ceramic pot. The neighbors who finally rescued her said this girl lived on top of that pot most of her life. She cried often and was very very thin. The good Samaritans asked the family if they could give this special girl to Labs and More, thank goodness they did as this girl was soon to deliver pups. Within days we got her needed medical care, she found an amazing foster who provided love and the food she needed to gain her strength and this special girl delivered 4 adorable babies. Today Playa cannot get enough of her fosters big backyard something this girl could not even dream of but now lives!

Tazzy just a skeleton of a white boxer boy was found staggering down a road. The person stopped and walked up to him and when they went to pet him he fell over near death. The kind person contacted one of our  Volunteers who drove hundreds of miles to bring this boy to safety. He was frail, worn down and had a very large open wound on his neck. Tazzy spent weeks living at one of our wonderful Veterinary Hospitals getting the critical care he needed. We just couldn’t give up on this boy who was just one year old and  who had lived the most horrible of lives in such a short time.  After months of care this boy is now in a foster home where he can’t get enough love!  He adores his foster sister and brothers and has found their beds to be quite comfortable. He is so thankful that there are people out there who believe humanity means caring for those who cannot care for themselves. For the first time in his life he is safe, happy and most of all pain free.

These are just a few of our many stories of hope and life. From Sigourney a 10 year old beautiful white Labrador in her last years of life left in a shelter with a painful injury that had been left untreated for years. The story of Ivory who had been hit by a car with a shattered front leg was left lying on the side of the road. Dear sweet Locket a smaller girl just 30lbs ready to deliver was found sleeping in a dump scouring for food as she prepared to deliver her babies. Dear Forever only 4 months of age who arrived with little or no fur suffering from mange where her feet were raw and her skin was so infected. The stories are hard to hear but they are real. Without your support these endings would be even harder to bare. With your help we will continue to write the happy endings that each of these dogs have been given.
