50 miles to India!

From Paul Jenkins

I'm not sure what's crazier: taking my family to the slums of Delhi or trying to run 50 miles in a day! So, I've decided to combine the 2 into 1! (ok, only the 2nd one's crazy!)

Why run 50 miles in a day?

For one reason: I've been to the slums of Delhi, been changed forever by the people there, and want my sons to experience it, too.

Over the past 6 years, I've been fortunate enough to be able to go to Delhi three times, and the last time my wife, Wendy, was able to go with me.  There is nothing more rewarding than loving "the least of these" and seeing them smile!  In October of 2015, we're going back and we're taking our 2 sons with us.

Traveling to the other side of the globe isn't cheap, and taking 4 pushes that price tag even higher.  In fact, the total cost to get all 4 of us there is $10,000, and in a couple of weeks, I'll be doing trying to raise half of that.

On Saturday, September 27, I'll be running in the Hinson Lake 24 Hour Ultra Classic to raise money that will help our family get back to the children in the slums of India, and I'm asking you to help.

Here's how it works:

I'm asking people to pledge money for every mile I can run.  Last year, I ran 32 miles in the Ultra, but this year my goal is 50 miles.

The giving levels are set up based on specific pledge levels and on me hitting the 50 miles mark, but you can give as much as you like.

Thank you in advance for your support!  I'll be checking back with updates throughout the Ultra Classic about how many miles I've completed and how I'm doing.  If I'm able to raise the total goal, maybe I'll even run a lap naked.

Probably not, but I'll be happy, happy, happy!  ;)
